THE CITY
Known as the 'Eternal City' because of its 3000 years of
history, Rome is certainly unique among other European cities.
It is a city full of spectacular monuments, elegant churches and
glorious fountains. Walking through the historic centre, one gets
the feeling of stepping back in time. However, it is also a modern
and dynamic city with 4 million inhabitants, 84 theatres, 70
museums, 75 cinemas and a seemingly infinite number of
restaurants and bars.
The climate is mild throughout the year and its proximity to the
sea, to the mountains and its countryside make it an ideal place
not only for the tourist who comes to Rome for a few days, but also
for those who would like to come and study the Italian language and
culture.
