ROMA

THE CITY

Rome with its 2000 years of history is certainly unique among other European cities.

It was the birthplace of one of the most ancient civilisations that ruled over and influenced peoples and cultures spread over a territory that included most of Europe, North Africa and a part of the Middle East. This civilisation lasted more then 1000 years (from 500 BC to about 900 AD) and has left its mark in every field of human knowledge; in the arts, law, engineering, architecture, theatre, social organisation etc.Roma

Rome is the only city, not only in Europe but also in Italy, that has such a rich and varied artistic heritage that goes from the Classic to the late Renaissance.

But Rome is not only a city full of monuments and palaces. It is also a modern and dynamic city with 4 million inhabitants, 84 theatres, 70 museums, 75 cinemas, an indefinite number of restaurants and a stimulating cultural calendar.

The climate is mild throughout the year and its proximity to the sea (25km), to the mountains (70km), the countryside and the hills of the "Castelli Romani" (just outside the city) make it an ideal place not only for the tourist who comes to Rome for a few days but also for those who would like to come and study the Italian language and culture.

THE SCHOOL

Rome schoolThe school has been operating in Rome since 1974 and is situated in the centre of Rome just a short walk from the central railway station and conveniently placed for transport to every area of the city. The school, associated with International House, enjoys an excellent reputation for its teaching quality and experience. It caters for students from all over the world, at all levels and with a wide variety of needs.
