Italian Restaurants in MelbourneGood Italian food can be found outside of Carlton!! Pizza e` Cucina No, it’s not a typo, this restaurant believes that Pizza is Cooking!! That’s probably why they won the award for the best gourmet pizza in Melbourne. It has even been called the best pizza out of Italy!! Even though Pizza e` Cucina is in Berwick, it is well worth the drive down to sample some of their pizze, calzoni, risotto and pasta; all of which are well-priced and delicious! They can be found at 40 High Street, Berwick. Give them a call on (03) 9796 1775 or check out their website at www.pizzaecucina.com. There’s nothing more Italian than enjoying a delicious gelato!! Antica Gelataria del Corso is 'a little piece of Italy' where you can taste and savour the very best of all things Italian - from delicious gelato to an extensive menu of panini, focacce, pastries, thin crusted pizze, soups, pasta, risotto, meat dishes, and a rich blend of coffee. They can be found in Melbourne City at 161 Collins Street (next to the Regent Theatre) or at Chadstone Shopping Centre, Shop K3, 1341 Dandenong Road, Chadstone. Check out their mouth-watering website at www.antica.com.au Cafe` Bedda Cafe` Bedda in Northcote is a “perfect little Italian local with old-style service and interesting food”. Meaning 'good' in Sicilian dialect, Cafe Bedda is an unpretentious Italian eatery: all well-priced wines, home-style Sicilian dishes and helpful, knowledgeable service. The cute little space is simply styled with chequered tiles, bare tables and sweeping Italian landscapes on the wall. With this laidback setting and authentic food, it's the sort of place that many would be more than happy to call their local - somewhere where one can go to sip Italian beverages, nibble on traditional pizzas and Sicilian-style dishes, and perhaps flirt lightly with a charming Italian waiter or two. (www.yourrestaurants.com.au) It is located at 242 High Street, Northcote. Phone: (03) 9482 9420. Bookings are essential as this place gets booked out fast!! If you know of any other good Italian restaurants around Melbourne, we would love to know about them!! |
Teacher Profile: Giuseppe RaffiGiuseppe has been a teacher at CIS for the past 3 years and is one of our most-loved children’s teachers because of his energy and outgoing personality! He teaches/entertains all the 3-5 year old children on a Saturday morning!! A huge task for anyone!! Giuseppe was born in Palermo where he completed liceo scientifico and then did his military service in Trapani as a “Bersaglieri” for 1 year. After that he travelled around Europe to beautiful places like Spain and France and then spent 3 years in Northern Italy. He fell in love with an Italo-Australian girl and moved to Australia in 2003. They recently returned to Italy for a well-deserved holiday before the arrival of their Baby Boy in February, 2009. Giuseppe is also a masseur and loves all kinds of sport, especially cycling. He participated in the “Giro D’Italia” in the under 23’s category in 1996 and in a world championship and 2 italian championship cycling events!! We would like to congratulate Giuseppe and his wife and we wait in anticipation for the most recent addition to the CIS family!! Auguri!! BABY BOOM AT CIS!! 3 of our male teachers’ wives are expecting babies!! Congratulations to Giuseppe, Giovanni and Malcolm who are soon to be nuovi papa`!!
Practise, Practise, PRACTISE!!! Did you know at CIS, after the 4th week of classes, you can attend as many classes as you like?? Come and collect a timetable in the office to take full advantage of this offer!!
